The importance of narrative storytelling is highlighted by the origin of the human species.

It is important to avoid narrative attack, while developing narrative insurgency.
Storytelling is a process that includes both the “head” and the “heart.” When we convey stories for social change, it is best to avoid allowing our rational mind to overtake the feeling behind our words. We share a narrative to contextualize the world around us and give a why: with our values driving The effectiveness of direct action. The value of genuine [[ Lived experiences ]] are also felt when we make ourselves vulnerable to someone new. This is key.
As organizers, we open ourselves up to others to have others to do the same. After all, if you are not willing to share your story, how can you expect someone else to share theirs?
This tactic in the organizer’s toolkit is more commonly seen in Grassroots organizing, which frequently encourages interactions with strangers; in opposition to campaign planning common within electoral and labor spheres.
